Survey results Overall 14 responses were received, 5 from coursework students and 9 from research students. Morning tea: 5 had attended, and most thought it was alright. 9 had not attended, mainly because they had a clash or Friday morning in general was not good for them. 2 said they didn't know about it. At this stage, the morning tea will stay in its current timeslot as it leads into postgrad seminars. More effort will be made to ensure that everyone knows that it's on. Activities: The most popular activity was a BBQ (11), followed by DVD night, morning/afternoon teas, dinner night, evening drinks (9), pub night and day trip (8). In response to this, we are planning to hold the Christmas BBQ again, and all the other events are currently being planned. Postgrad seminars: The most popular responses to extending the postgrad seminar series were "At uni Fridays, but don't go" and "Might be interesting". All topics received a fairly even number of votes, but the most popular was "Life after postgrad", followed by tutorials, shorter presentations, ICT-related seminars and fun things. 6 respondents made suggestions for seminars they could present, and 2 made suggestions for seminars they'd like to attend. We will begin following up speakers in order to organise some tutorials and seminars for next semester, in addition to the normal seminars.
