About
I work in the Grid Computing and Distributed Systems Laboratory (GRIDS Lab) in the Dept. of Computer Science and Software Engg., University of Melbourne, Australia. In 2006, I completed my Ph.D. on scheduling of data-intensive applications under the supervision of Dr.Rajkumar Buyya and Prof. Rao Kotagiri. I have been part of the lab's flagship Gridbus Project since its inception, and initially developed the Gridbus Broker. My research interests lie in the area of large-scale distributed systems, specifically in the topics of resource allocation in Grids and middleware development. More information is available on my research page and a listing of my publications is available on the publications page.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2001 from Model Engineering College, Cochin, Kerala. The degree was awarded by the Cochin University of Science and Technology. I was part of a final year project team that developed Echelon, a prototype system using mobile agents for SETI@Home-like distributed computing.
I am a native of the harbour city of Kochi (Cochin), (pop. 3 million+) in the verdant state of Kerala, India. I have lived a major part of my life in Mumbai (when it was known as Bombay) and for a very short time in Chennai, two of the biggest cities in India. For the sake of my own safety, there will be no comparisons. At present, I live in the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne, Australia.
